Sports physiotherapy is in charge of working on those ailments or injuries that are triggered in sports practice. It works with various techniques such as dry needling, manual therapy, neuromuscular or corrective bandages, sports massage, motor control, therapeutic exercises ...
The objectives of this discipline are clear:
Reduce injury times and recover the patient as soon as possible.
For this we not only need the knowledge of the physiotherapist but also everything that the athlete contributes as the cause of the injury and to guide specific exercises to speed up recovery.
We assess the most damaging factors and assess whether we should work in a specific area or what we should avoid.
Modify the symptoms before choosing complete rest, which we do not recommend
For an athlete, absolute rest is recommended in very specific cases. We always try to be able to continue doing the activity, but modifying what causes the pain or injury.
